66 Set to Graduate From Maui Job Corps Program
Maui Job Corps Center will host a graduation ceremony and recognition event for 66 individuals who completed the program. The graduation will take place this Thursday, Aug. 8, at 12:30 p.m.
Recent Job Corps graduates employed in Hawaiʻi, program partners and family members will recognize these students’ “achievements and the investment they made in their futures and community” at the upcoming event.
“Maui is the island’s premier career a technical training program. The 66 program year 2019 graduates went on to successful careers in their training areas, joined the military or enrolled in higher education. They also helped provide over 1448 hours of community service to non-profit partner agencies in Maui county,” said Marshall Norman, the center’s director.
Maui Job Corps is one of 123 Job Corps centers located across the country. Job Corps offers underserved youth a set of diverse academic opportunities and career pathways tailored to meet the needs of business and industry.
Program leaders say, “each year, Job Corps gives tens of thousands of youth a second chance to complete their education and advance into careers, higher education or the military.”
