Mauiʻs only adult hula competition, Kū Mai ka Hula, will return to the Maui Arts & Cultural Centerʻs Castle Theatre for its 14th annual event on Sept. 14.

This year’s competition will feature award-winning hālau from around Hawai‘i, the continental US, and Japan.

The competitors will be judged by a group of renowned kumu hula, including Iwalani Kalima, Ulalia Woodside, and Kaponoʻai Molitau.

A related panel discussion, Hula Ma‘i, will be held on Sept. 12 at 7:30 p.m. in the MACC’s McCoy Studio Theater.
