The Wailea Golf Club gifted more than $2,000 to the Hawaiʻi Animal Rescue Foundation.

The funds were raised at the clubʻs annual Womenʻs Golf Day event, a celebration organized in recognition of Womenʻs Golf Month in June.

Located in Waihe`e, HARF operates a 10-acre, no-kill facility for its animals.

The foundation also offers pet adoptions, off-island relocation services, spay and neuter clinics, and other pet-care related services.

In 2018, the private nonprofit took in 325 dogs and 1 horse, and successfully arranged for 309 adoptions.

“For the second year in a row, we are grateful for the Wailea Golf Club’s wonderful support, not only for the monetary donation which will greatly benefit the animals in our care, but also for helping more people become aware of HARF’s life-saving mission,” HARF co-founder Penny Dearborn said in a press release.
