Maui police have charged a 36-year-old Lahaina man with second degree attempted murder after an incident at a Wailuku bar over the weekend.

Soine Koniseti is being held in lieu of $100,000 bail after being arrested by Wailuku patrol Saturday at Saigon Palace, located at 310 Hoʻokahi Street. Officers were responding to calls of a large fight at 1:35 a.m. fronting the bar when they discovered the 29-year-old victim.

The victim was transported to Maui Memorial Medical Center where he was treated and released. Another 38-year-old man was arrested for second degree assault involving the same case.
