Maui Crime Sept. 15-21, 2019: Burglaries, Break-Ins, Thefts

Maui police responded to 16 burglaries, 10 vehicle thefts and 21 vehicle break-ins in Maui County over a seven day period from Sept. 15 to 21, 2019.

Burglaries were up +60% from the week before when 10 incidents were reported over the seven day period. Vehicle thefts were unchanged from the week before when 10 incidents occurred; and vehicle break-ins were up +10% from the week before when 19 incidents were reported.

Below is a complete list of incidents and the time and locations of when and where they occurred.

16 Burglaries

Haʻikū:

  • Sunday, Sept. 15, 11:34 a.m.: 100 block of Uakoko Place, Haʻikū. Residential, forced entry.
  • Sunday, Sept. 15, 3:43 p.m.: 500 block of Kaupakalua Road, Haʻikū. Residential, forced entry.

Kahului: 

  • Saturday, Sept. 21, 6:15 a.m.: 100 block of Llelpio Place, Kahului at Kahului Heliport. Non-residential, forced entry.
  • Saturday, Sept. 21, 8:46 p.m.: 100 block of Kuʻualoha Street, Kahului. Residential, unlawful entry.

Kīhei:

  • Sunday, Sept. 15, 1:04 a.m.: 200 block of Hoʻohie Street, Kīhei. Residential, unlawful entry.
  • Wednesday, Sept. 18, 11:54 a.m.: 300 block of Hale Kai Street, Kīhei. Residential, forced entry.
  • Saturday, Sept. 21, 2:58 a.m.: 200 block of Uala Place, Kīhei. Residential, forced entry.
