Maui fire and and rescue crews extracted a 35-year-old female fisherman after she fell five feet onto some rocks at the west end of Maliko Bay today.
The incident took place at 8:06 a.m. Rescue crews made their way down a steep trail to a rocky point where the victim fell, stabilized her on a backboard then airlifted her out via extraction basket via helicopter.
She was taken to Hookipa Beach Park where paramedics transferred her to an ambulance and transported her to Maui Memorial Medical Center.
Fire officials said the victim had no local address. Another female victim had to be rescued from the Maliko area yesterday after stranding herself at the bottom of a 50 foot cliff.
