Thousands of humpback whales are making their way back to Maui to mate, give birth, and care for their young calves.

To celebrate their arrival, the Pacific Whale Foundation will be hosting its annual “Welcome Home the Whales” excursion.

The two-hour ecotour will include informative activities, a Hawaiian blessing, and hula performances.

“This is one of our favorite opportunities to share some of what we’ve learned about these majestic creatures over the past 40 years with visitors and members of our Maui community,” PWF executive director Kristie Wrigglesworth said in a press release.

“We want everyone to be able to experience our mission work in order to become inspired environmental stewards and fellow ocean protectors, and to come together as a community to honor the whales.”

The event will be held on Nov. 9. The foundation’s annual 10-day online auction, which benefits its Keiki Whalewatch Program, will also open that day.

Tickets for “Welcome Home the Whales” can be purchased here.
