A new workshop will inform Maui residents on how to prepare their homes for severe weather events.

The free seminar, “Hui Up for Resiliency,” is a partnership between the University of Hawai’i Maui College and the Maui Electric Company that will feature presentations from construction industry professionals.

“With our islands experiencing more severe weather events, we always encourage the importance of being prepared and this includes reinforcing your homes and equipping your family for emergency situations,” Maui Electric president Sharon Suzuki said in a press release.

The workshop will be held on Dec. 14 from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the University of Hawai’i Maui College campus in room 225 of the Laulima Building.
