Maui Fire Dept.: Damage to Structure in Hāna is “Total Loss”

Maui fire crews battled a structure fire at a residence located at 40755 Hāna Highway in East Maui on Monday afternoon.

The incident was reported at around 1:24 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 11, 2019.

Fire officials say there were no full time residents living there and the space is believed to have been used as a workshop.

When Engine 7 and Tanker 7 arrived on scene, the structure was fully involved.

According to department reports, the fire was extinguished at 5:21 p.m., but the extent of damage to the structure was considered to be a “total loss.”

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
