A $4,000 grant from the Office of Hawaiian Affairs will help the Maui Family Support Services hold its 14th Ho`olaule`a o nā Mākuakāne-Celebration of Fathers.

“The purpose of the event is to raise awareness the importance of father involvement in the lives of their children and encouraging fathers and other male caregivers to take a leadership role in their families emotionally, spiritually, and economically,” a press release from the organization said.

Organizers say the event will also help connect Native Hawaiian families to community services.
