Sports Nutrition Documentary Fundraiser for Kihei Charter School Paddling Team, Dec. 4

Seven high school students and their Coach Niko Miller from Kīhei Charter School host their first community health night at 6 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 4, 2019. The event features a screening of the newest sports nutrition documentary called “The Game Changers” (Rated TV-MA).

The Game Changers” is produced by Arnold Schwarzenegger, Jackie Chan, James Cameron, Lewis Hamilton, Novak Djokovic and Chris Paul.  It’s described as a “revolutionary new documentary” about meat, protein and strength features accomplished athletes from around the world including: Tennessee Titan Derrek Morgan, American Record-Holding Weightlifter Kendrick Farris, Two-Time Australian 400M Champion Morgan Mitchel, Record-Holding Ultramarathoner Scott Jurek and more.

Following the “The Game Changers” there will be a question and answer discussion featuring a panel of local experts including: Dr. Irminne Van Dyken (General Surgeon), Liat Miller APRN (Family Nurse Practitioner), Paul Romero, Mount Everest and Seven Summit Record Holder, Kevin Watkins, Massage Therapist and Founder of Maui Sustainable Solutions, and Coach Niko Miller, Health Educator/Assistant KCS Paddling Coach and 2019 HCRA NOVA Maui Champion.

A variety of concessions will also be available including food choices from Whole Foods Market, Monsoon India, Fork and Salad, Maui Raw, Sansei Seafood Restaurant & Sushi Bar and more.

The event is a fundraiser for the Kīhei Charter School paddling team with all proceeds going towards a cross-island voyage to Lānaʻi for a Hawaiian cultural exchange with the Lānaʻi High School paddling team.

There is a suggested $2 donation for the film and $10 adult plate / $5 kids plate for the concessions. Those who cannot attend and would like to donate are invited to use VENMO, with payment going to: South Maui Learning ʻOhana and type GameChangers under “What’s it for?.”
