MPD Raises Thousands For Mauiʻs Cancer Patients
Maui police donated over $2,000 to the Pacific Cancer Foundation yesterday.
Police officers raised the money by selling pink MPD patches all last month. This was the first fundraiser of its kind MPD held to support the PCF.
“We were surprised when we began receiving emails and phone calls from people outside of
Maui. We received requests from California and as far away as Ukraine” said Officer Bethany
Cravalho-Parker, who led the project.
Officers also had the choice to replace the standard police patch on their uniforms with the pink patch to express their support for cancer patients.
