Maui Now. Brown Water Advisory.

A Brown Water Advisory has been issued for Mauiʻs north and west shores (from Kahekili to Hookipa), officials announced today.

Debris has begun to enter coastal waters due to 18 to 24-foot surf.

The public is advised to stay out of brown ocean water, which could have made contact with sewers, manholes, pesticides, animal fecal matter, dead animals, pathogens, and chemicals.
