DT Fleming Park Under Brown Water Advisory
The state health department has issued a brown water advisory for DT Fleming Beach Park.
Officials say stormwater runoff has entered coastal waters following heavy rain.
The public is advised to stay out of flood waters and storm water runoff due to possible overflowing cesspools, sewer, manholes, pesticides, animal fecal matter, dead animals, pathogens, chemicals, and associated flood debris.
According to the department, not all coastal areas may be impacted by runoff, but if the water is brown stay out.
The department suggests practicing good personal hygiene and seeking help from a primary care physician if health concerns arise.
It is unclear how long the advisory will remain in effect.
