Injured Visitor Airlifted From Nākālele

A woman in her 30s was airlifted from the shoreline near Nākālele Blowhole Monday afternoon, the Maui Fire Department announced.

Fire officials were notified that the woman fell on dry land at about 1:54 p.m.

Personnel airlifted the woman to a landing zone along Kahekili Highway, where an ambulance transported her to the Maui Memorial Medical Center.

Officials say the woman’s lower left leg could be fractured.

*This story has been updated to remove the visitor’s place of residence.  Maui Now reached out to authorities who informed us that their initial release had incorrectly listed the woman’s place of residence as outside of the country.
