Maui Crime Feb. 2- Feb. 8: Burglaries, Break-ins, Thefts

Maui police responded to 8 burglaries, 3 vehicle thefts and 9 vehicle break-ins in Maui County over a seven day period from Feb. 2 to Feb. 8, 2020.

Burglaries were down 27 percent from the week before when 11 incidents were reported over the seven day period. Vehicle thefts decreased 50 percent from the week before when 6 incidents were reported; and vehicle break-ins increased 29 percent from the previous week, when 7 incidents were reported.

8 Burglaries

Kahului: 

  • Tuesday, Feb. 4, 1:30 p.m. 441 Alamaha St., Kahului at Safeway Systems. Non-residential, unlawful entry.
  • Friday, Feb. 7, 6:41 a.m.: 380 Alamaha St., Kahului at Maui Disposal. Non-residential, forced entry.

Kīhei: 

  • Saturday, Feb. 8, 2:20 p.m.: 1-100 Ahekolo Street, Kīhei. Residential, forced entry.

Kula: 

  • Friday, Feb. 7, 2:25 p.m.: 13400 Block of Kula Highway, Kula. Residential, unlawful entry.

  • Friday, Feb. 7, 2:07 a.m.: 70 Hauʻoli St., Maʻalaea at Maʻalaea Kai. Residential, forced entry.

Mauna Loa: 

  • Saturday, Feb. 8, 7:42 p.m.: 100 Block of Mauna Loa Road, Mauna Loa. Residential, attempted entry.

Wailea: 

  • Wednesday, Feb. 5, 8:10 a.m.: 3100 Block of Nahenahe Place, Wailea. Residential, unlawful entry.

Wailuku: 

  • Monday, Feb. 4, 9:48 a.m.: 300 Block of Konahea Street, Wailuku. Residential, unlawful entry.
