UPDATE: Maui Man Enters Not Guilty Pleas to Firearms Charges

The defendant in this case, Val “Mana” Redo appeared in court where he entered not guilty pleas on April 24, to nine separate counts including three misdemeanor offenses, one petty misdemeanor, and five Class B Felony allegations including firearms charges and escape.
While a police statement in March indicated that Redo was wanted for alleged Unauthorized Control of a Propelled Vehicle, the charges noted in court documents do not include vehicle theft.
According to court documents, on June 22, the defendant indicated he wants to go to trial. A pretrial conference has been set for Sept. 14, 2020.

The Maui Police Department is asking for the public’s help in locating Val “Mana” Redo, who is wanted on one warrant for alleged Unauthorized Control of a Propelled Vehicle.
Redo, 31, is described as 5 feet 11 inches tall and weighs 185 pounds. He has black hair and brown eyes.
Police say Redo is known to frequent the Keʻanae and Hāna areas.
Police also continue their search for John Kahalehoe III who also frequents the Hāna, Nāhiku and Keʻanae areas, who is wanted on two outstanding warrants.
Anyone with information on the whereabouts of Redo and Kahalehoe is asked not to approach either, but instead contact the Maui Police Department at (808) 244-6400, or call 911 if it is an emergency.
