Moloka‘i Flood Advisory Until 2:45 p.m.

A Flood Advisory has been issued for the island of Molokaʻi until 2:45 p.m. on Sunday, March 15, 2020.

The National Weather Service says radar at 11:51 a.m. showed heavy rain falling at rates of 1 to 3 inches per hour over leeward Molokaʻi. Additional heavy rainfall is expected through early afternoon.

Locations in the advisory include but are not limited to: Hoʻolehua, Maunaloa, Kualapuʻu, Kepuhi, Kalaupapa National Park and Molokaʻi Airport.

The public is reminded to stay away from streams, drainage ditches and low-lying areas prone to flooding.

Motorists and pedestrians are advised not to cross fast-flowing or rising water in their vehicle or on
foot. “Turn around, don’t drown,” the NWS advises.
