Maui County Federal Credit Union donated a care package with $30 Starbucks gift cards, healthy snack bars and workout towels to the 26 Hale Makua Home Health Care staff.

“It’s part of saying mahalo to our community that are in the medical field,” said Gary Fukuroku, President and CEO with Maui County Federal Credit Union.

An asymptomatic nursing home resident at the Hale Makua Kahului facility, who had tested positive for COVID-19, has since completed the required 14-day quarantine and is still showing no symptoms, however, additional tests will be administered to confirm recovery.

The update was provided by CEO Wesley Lo who said an additional 27 residents who were recently admitted have all undergone a second round of testing and all results have come back as negative.

  • One client has been released from isolation and is recovering.
  • The other client is currently in quarantine.
