Maui Korean Community Association Donates 100 Plate Lunches to Maui Hospital Staff
The Maui Korean Community Association is among the various community groups that chipped in recently to offer a lunch donation to hospital staff working on the front lines of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Volunteers with the local nonprofit donated 100 plate lunches from Tiffany’s Bar & Grill to staff at the Maui Memorial Medical Center.
The donation was delivered to the helipad building on Tuesday.
About the Maui Korean Community Association:
The Maui Korean Community Association started out in the early 80s working closely with Maui Korean War veterans. The organization offers scholarships to graduating seniors of Korean heritage.
The group has expanded to offer assistance with Korean visitors who seek help through the consulate general.
Jeannie Archer, volunteer and president of the Maui Korean Community Association says there are less than 1,000 Korean Americans in Maui County. Efforts this year involve increasing voter registration and community involvement.
