Swell Summary

Ongoing large northwest swells will continue to produce surf exceeding High Surf Advisory levels along north and west-facing shores today. This northwest swell will gradually lower through the day. A moderate size north swell will fill in tomorrow and build surf heights back to advisory levels for north and west- facing shorelines. Some east-facing shores with northerly exposure will experience wrap and an increase in surf from this northerly swell. The more northerly direction of this swell may also increase surf heights along the west-facing shorelines of Maui.

Another fairly large, long period northwest swell is expected to fill in on Monday. Surf heights may reach low end warning levels during the peak of this swell late Monday. This swell will slowly decline Tuesday and Wednesday. A gale force region over the Central North Pacific producing large long period northwest swell (along a 300 to 320 degree great circle path) may generate extra large surf for north and west-facing shores late Wednesday into Thursday.
