Locally owned and operated Premier Restoration Hawaiʻi (PRH) has promoted Anthony Nelson of Makawao from Chief Commercial Officer to President.

Nelson now is responsible for finance, growth strategy, achieving annual sales and process goals and overseeing all operations across the state for Hawaiʻi’s full-service mitigation and restoration company.

PRH provides one-stop solutions for water, fire, mold and storm damage to residential and commercial properties on Maui, Oʻahu, Hawaiʻi Island and most recently, Kauaʻi.

“I am so excited to work with the PRH team in this new role and there’s no other team that I’d rather be working with or responsible for,” Nelson said. “For me, it goes back to our core values — customer first, team, play to win, pride in work, communication — and our team goes out of their way to live these values. The clearest outcome of our quality work and excellent service is our Google reviews.

“We’re giving people a positive experience when their house just flooded or caught on fire. To get a high rating when people are dealing with that, it’s a real testament to what our team is doing in the field every day.”

Nelson brings 20 years of industry experience to the PRH team. He joined the company in 2009 as an estimator and was promoted to operations manager within a year. In this role, he aggressively grew the company from eight to more than 140 employees in all departments as one cohesive team.

Nelson holds many professional certifications and accreditations, including IICRC Master Water Restorer, IICRC Master Fires and Smoke Restorer, Building Sciences Institute (BSI) Certified Building Thermographer, and the Linders Health Institute Infection Control Risk Assessment Accreditation. He earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Cleary University in Michigan.

In addition to his new responsibilities and the coaching and development of their leadership team, Nelson led expansion of PRH’s services to Kauaʻi with acquisition of Mike Wallace’s restoration company with an office and full-time staff of 20.

“I saw the opportunity to partner with Premier Restoration Hawaiʻi first and foremost as a chance to serve the community of Kauaʻi far more than I would have been able to as a stand-alone company,” said Wallace, now the general manager of PRH’s Kauaʻi operations. “We are excited to be a part of a company that strives for quality and places great value in relationships with our customers.”

Nelson is an active member on the Maui Community Council and is spearheading an effort to bring together stakeholders in the AOAO community—building managers, building owners, insurance specialists—to create standardized guidelines for how water damage claims are handled in a multi-unit event.

Nelson also is on the consensus body for the Institute of Inspecting Cleaning and Restoration Certification (IICRC) S760 Standard for the professional restoration of structures and items damaged by wild fire smoke, where he’s collaborating on the development of the standards.
