The Department of Parks and Recreation will temporarily close the basketball court at Pāʻia Park for repair and renovation work beginning Feb 1, 2021. The basketball court will reopen after the project’s expected completion in early March.

The outdoor basketball court at Pāʻia Park is adjacent to the Alfred “Flako” Boteilho Sr. Gymnasium at 640 Baldwin Ave.

Work by construction contractor Central Construction will include asphalt and concrete repair, acrylic resurfacing, striping of basketball courts, removal and replacement of existing backboards and posts, removal of overgrown vegetation, installation new chain link fence and new ADA accessible walkways.

The public is asked to stay away from construction areas as a safety precaution.
