PC: Blue Hawaiian Concierge

Blue Hawaiian Helicopters marks the grand opening today of Blue Hawaiian Activities, a newly incorporated activities concierge company serving the Hawaiian Islands.

Blue Hawaiian Activities and its team of concierge professionals are now available to curate personalized experiences for travelers from a suite of amenities ranging from (but not limited to) general resort and island information, dining reservations, golf excursions, island-specific tour and activities, lūʻau events, diving, transportation, rental cars and more.

Company representatives say Blue Hawaiian Activities was “born out of necessity” following the closing of Expedia Group’s “Expedia Local Expert” offline concierge business, which ceased operations across the islands on Jan. 31, 2021.

“Blue Hawaiian Helicopters understands firsthand the important role the activities sector plays in the overall traveler experience and saw the immediate need to continue offering visitors customized, in-person concierge planning services.  Additionally, the company saw the need to further support local communities through continued employment of many of Expedia’s local concierge experts, which in turn allows for uninterrupted service to visitors,” according to a company announcement.

“Blue Hawaiian Helicopters has remained a leader in activity tourism in Hawaiʻi for 35 years through our award-winning helicopter tour company,” said Quentin Koch, President and General Manager of Blue Hawaiian Helicopters.  “The addition of the activities concierge division further solidifies our commitment to providing authentic Hawaiian travel experiences to visitors, as well as our steadfast belief that travel will return to Hawaiʻi stronger than ever.”

Blue Hawaiian Activities begins operations with 19 concierge offices throughout Maui and Oʻahu, and will further expand to Kauaʻi and the Big Island in the coming months.

Koch will oversee both operations as president of Blue Hawaiian Helicopters & Activities. Koch brings more than 20 years of experience in the aviation and tourism sectors, having previously served as United Airlines’ director of operations for the Hawaiian Islands.

Myra Galinato will be joining in March to serve as General Manager for the activities division.  Galinato comes to Blue Hawaiian from Expedia Group after 13 years, where she worked as General Manager of Expedia Local Experts’ Hawaiʻi offices.

“Blue Hawaiian Helicopters and Expedia Local Expert have a history of sharing the best experiences that Hawaiʻi has to offer, and have done so in a way that imparts more than a superficial viewpoint of our islands,” said Galinato. “Our collective experience in this arena is unparalleled and we are passionate about sharing adventures that we believe are transformative and invaluable.”
