A visitor from New York voluntarily returned to the mainland after being arrested for an alleged quarantine violation.

Police say Jordana Lusk, 27, was arrested on Tuesday, Feb. 2, 2021, for one count of Violating the Rules and Orders relating to Travel Quarantine.

According to police, Lusk arrived on Maui from Oʻahu without a negative pre-travel COVID-19 test and did not have approved lodging in which to complete the mandatory ten-day travel quarantine.

Police say Lusk volunteered to leave Maui and flew back to New York without incident.
