Maui Man Dies in Motorcycle Crash on North Kīhei Road
(Update: 12 p.m., Set. 28, 2021)

A Maui man suffered fatal injuries in a motorcycle crash on North Kīhei Road early Tuesday morning. 

Police have since identified the motorcyclist as 36-year-old Myles Basquez of Kīhei. A full update with further details is posted here.

North Kīhei Road is now OPEN in both directions. The road was closed earlier this morning following a fatal motor vehicle crash. Details will be released later this morning.

North Kīhei Road is closed between Honoapiʻilani Highway and South Kihei Road due to a motor vehicle crash reported earlier this morning. The road closure went into effect at around 6:30 a.m.

Maui police have since confirmed that the incident has resulted in a fatality. Details will be released later this morning.

Motorists are asked to please avoid the area.
