Elizabeth Ann Sherwood, 52 of Ocean View passed away on Oct. 29, 2021. She was born on Jan. 19, 1969 in Sterlington, Louisiana Elizabeth owned her own cleaning business.
She is survived by brother Todd (Teri) Nighswonger of Missouri; sister Tami (Dennis) Anthony of Stockton, Missouri; nieces Amber Hagedorn of Captain Cook, Hawaii; Elizabeth (Cody) Alvarez of Florida; and Christa Hagedorn of Houston, Texas.

David Kealawahilani Kauha’aha’a, Jr.
Oct. 21, 1933 – Oc. 23, 2021
David KealawahilaniKauha’aha’a Jr. passed away peacefully at home in Pukalani, Maui surrounded by family and under hospice care. He was born in Lahaina, Maui to David and Nancy Kauha’aha’a and was raised in Kahakuloa, Maui.
David graduated from St. Anthony High School (Class of ‘52) and shortly after enlisted in the Army. During his 23 years of service, David was stationed in Oʻahu, Korea, Vietnam (7 tours), Thailand, Okinawa, Ft Bragg, North Carolina and his last stop -Ft Ord, California where he retired. Most of his Army career was served as a Green Beret in the 1st and 5th Special Forces Group. He earned one Bronze Star, Presidential Unit Emblem, five Good Conduct Medals, Master Parachutist Badge and various other awards.
After retirement, David and his family settled in the Monterey Bay, California area where he sold Lincoln/Mercury cars for many years and eventually retired for a second time as a salesman from California State Automobile Association in 1997. David was a natural in sales and spread the Aloha to all his clients over the years. He and his wife Rozelle moved to a Del Webb retirement community in Lincoln, CA in 2001 where they lived for 16 years. After being away for over 65+ years, David and Rozelle moved back home to Maui No Ka Oi in 2017.
One of David’s favorite past times was golf; he enjoyed the many games and courses he played with family and friends over the years. He was also very active in his church and the communities he lived. He served as the president of the Nisei VFW Post 1629 and Hui O’Aloha club in Monterey, CA. David was a master event planner for many fundraising events to support St Joseph Church in Lincoln as well as an honorary lifetime and 3rd degree member of the Knights of Columbus, Council 9202 in Lincoln, CA. He touched so many lives with his Aloha spirit; his pride and joy were his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. He will be missed so much.
David is survived by his loving wife, Rozelle Kauha’aha’a (Gomes); his seven children -Ronnie (Patti) Kauha’aha’a, Marlene (Russ) Harlan, Karlene (Michael) Mendiola, Wendy Kauha’aha’a, Leanne “Anna” (Ronald) Johnston, Arlette (Jerry) Jones, and Joycelyn (Shanley) Kiaha; 19 grandchildren, 22+ great grandchildren; his sister, Lily Kikau, and many dear cousins, nieces and nephews. David is predeceased by his parents, David E. Kauha’aha’a and Nancy Kauha’aha’a (Park-Kaneshiro), sister, Rose (Tweety) Kalama, brothers Hosea, Paul, John and Roy Kauha’aha’a, and his great grandson River Mendiola.
A celebration of his life and visitation will be held Tuesday, Nov. 9, 2021 at Ballard’s Family Mortuary in Kahului from 4:30-7 p.m., service begins at 5:30 p.m. A private Mass will be held on Wednesday, Nov. 10 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Makawao at 11 a.m., followed by Military Honors open to the public at Maui Veterans Cemetery in Makawao at 1 p.m. Covid-19 guidelines will be followed.

Wanda Dupont
April 27, 1952 – Oct. 30, 2021
Wanda Pla Dupont, 69, of Hilo, passed away on Oct. 30, 2021 at Hilo Medical Center. Born on Oʻahu, she was a former waitress at Hawaii Naniloa Resort, Restaurant Osaka, Hukilau Restaurant and Sun Sun Lau Restaurant.
Celebration of Life to be held at her home on 40 Hokupa’a St. Hilo, on Dec. 11, 2021 at 12 p.m.
She is survived by her husband, Howard Kaleo “Bozo” Dupont of Hilo; son, Kenward C. Dupont (Jerry Hoffled) of Hilo; daughter, Yolanda Dupont (Christopher J. Kaukini) of Hilo; sister in law, Joann Pla of Honolulu; eight grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, and numerous cousins.

Mary Luana Morton Santos was born on Oct. 9, 1938 and passed away on Oct. 30, 2021 at Hale Makua Kahului under Hospice Care.
She is predeceased by her parents, Benjamin Morton, Jr. and Margaret Lindsey Morton; her husband Alfred G. Santos; brother Henry Spencer and a son, Benjamin Kimo Morton.
She is survived by three sibling; Robert (Jennie-Guam), Wayne (Maui) and Marjorie (Maui); six sons; Vance (Maui). Steve (Roxanne- Maui), Jon (Ulu- Maui), Scott (Kimberly- Washington), Wayne (Maui), Jim (Washington), ten grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Norman’s Mortuary is assisting with family viewing from 8-9 a.m., public viewing from 9-11 a.m., services from 11-12 p.m., followed by burial at Valley Isle Memorial Park in Haʻikū.
Chantell “Channy” Ramones Romero
Sept. 7, 1985 – Oct. 29, 2021
Chantell “Channy” Romero, 36, passed away at home on Friday, Oct. 29, 2021. She was born in Wailuku on Sept. 7, 1985.
Survived by dad, Reynaldo (Cindy-pre-deceased) Romero; Mom, Lilia (Martin) Padre. Siblings: Lynne, Jackie Lee (Paul), Robin and Cassandra Romero. Nephews Anthony, Dylan, Tyler, Bryson & Elliott. Niece Mallory and numerous uncles, aunties and cousins.
Chan was always willing to help others putting their needs first before hers. Thoughtful, caring, sweet and compassionate, and always had a smile that many will remember her by. She was a guiding light for her nephews and niece and reminded them to always follow the right path.
On her downtime, she was either reading a book or writing in her journal, loved Korean dramas and the Hallmark channel movies. She was loved by so many and will surely be missed.
Channy’s memorial service will be held at Ballard’s Family Mortuary on Saturday, Nov. 20, 2021 from 8 a.m. – 12 p.m. Family viewing 8-9 a.m., public visitation 9-11 and service over urn 11-12.
The family is requesting no flowers and due to COVID-19 restrictions, the use of mask and social distancing guidelines will be implemented.
Jonathan Cordero Racca
Jan. 14, 1990 – Nov. 5, 2021
Jonathan “Bear” Racca of Wailuku, Maui passed away on Nov. 5, 2021 at the age of 31.
Jon, fondly known as “Bear”, is survived by his parents, Erlinda C. Racca and Augusto Racca; Life Partner, Alana Seabury; Daughter, Cammie Sylvia Yaris-Racca; Siblings, Jeffery Racca and Julius Racca.
He graduated from King Kekaulike High School in 2008. Bear was a hard worker, a talented musician, crafty mechanic, a creative artist and a lover of fishing. He was a proud father, devoted son, cherished life partner and a beloved friend to many.
Funeral services for Jon will be held on Nov. 17, 2021 at Ballard Family Mortuary located at 440 Ala Makani Street, Kahului, Maui, Hawaiʻi 96732.
Family viewing will begin at 5 p.m., prayer service at 6 p.m. and public viewing from 7 p.m. through 9 p.m. On Nov. 18, 2021 the family will have a second service with family viewing at 9 a.m., public viewing at 10 a.m., and prayer service at 11 a.m. with burial to follow at 12:30 p.m. at Maui Memorial Park.
Ballard Family Mortuary has requested that as precaution and for the safety of everyone, all who attend are required to use facial masks and practice social distancing during this time.

Isao Aimoku Sugai, 56 of Ocean View passed away peacefully at his residence on Nov. 11, 2021. He was born on Nov. 25, 1964 in Honolulu, Hawaiʻi. He was a man of many talents and touched many lives.
He is survived by spouse Cindy; and daughter Mardani P. Sugai of Ocean View.

Chauncey Kimokeo

Chauncey Keaweiwi Kimokeo, of Keʻanae, Maui, passed away on Nov. 13, 2021 at his home with his ʻohana. He was born on March 19, 1979 in Wailuku, Maui. He lived a life full of aloha in Keʻanae as a Kalo Farmer.
ʻOhana visitation will be held from 9 – 9:30 a.m. and public visitation will be held from 9:30 – 10:30 a.m. on Sunday, Nov. 21, 2021, at Ballard Family Mortuary; service at 10:30 a.m.
He is survived by, mother, Pualani Kimokeo; sister, Kamaile (Davida), brothers, Kealiʻi (Monique), Aliʻiloa (Kehau), and Ire; wahine, Luana Helekahi; daughters, Carley (Kaʻohu), Aiyana, Skyla and Mila; and many nieces, nephews, grand-nieces and grand-nephews.

Randolph R. Cabanilla, 75 of Lahaina, Maui, passed away on Nov. 3, 2021, at his home, with loved ones at his side, under the care of Islands Hospice. He was born on May 14, 1946, in Lahaina.
Visitation will be held from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 24, 2021, at Ballard Family Mortuary; service at 11 a.m.; burial will follow, 1 p.m. at the Maui Veteran’s Cemetery in Makawao. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the use of masks and social distancing practices are required.
Randolph was the owner of Randolph Cabanilla, EA. He was predeceased by his parents, Juan, Sr., & Kiiko Doris (Shimabukuro) Cabanilla; and by his siblings, Lenora Carpio, Juan Cabanilla Jr. and Arthur Cabanilla. He is survived by his daughter, Debra “Debbie” (John) Tuquero; Sweetheart & Companion, Terry Lynn Bosque; granddaughters, Noela Tuquero, Jessica Tuquero; hanai granddaughter, Kea-Lynn Rodrigues; siblings, Lawrence (Rebecca) Cabanilla, Donald (Chris) Cabanilla, Priscilla (Robert-deceased) Mikell, Karen (Elmer) Coloma, Nathan (Alicia) Cabanilla; his former wife, Sandra Cabanilla; sisters-in-law, Masako Cabanilla, Helga Cabanilla; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Carol Kehaunani Robello (Muller) 76, of Ōmaʻopio, Maui passed away on Nov. 6, 2021, with family at her side, under the care of Hospice Maui. She was born on June 5, 1945, in Honolulu, Oahu.
Visitation will be held from 9 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 30, 2021, at Ballard Family Mortuary; service will begin at 10:30 a.m.; burial will follow, 1 p.m. at the Maui Veteran’s Cemetery in Makawao. Carol is survived by her partner, Richard “Bonez” Taomoto; children, Leona Underhill (Brian), Joseph Aviles Jr. (Peggy), Leane Bodine (Allen);; Grandchildren: Teri Rosalani, Tyson-Lee, Amberlynn, Chelsea, Kehaunani, Charla, Angela & Kamalani, Clinton, Alex, Nanea; and 25 great grandchildren. She is predeceased by her husband John A. Robello Sr., son Robert Aviles and grandson Johnny Miyamoto.
She farmed with her husband John A. Robello Sr. in Ōmaʻopio. She also enjoyed bowling for many years with Holo Holo Bowling Club, Hawaiian League, and Old Timers League and the many friends she made over the years. She loved spending time with her ohana and Bonez.
