In partnership with Hawaiian Electric and Kaulunani Urban and Community Forestry Program, Maui Nui Botanical Gardens and the Maui Association of Landscape Professionals will host the 20th annual Arbor Day Garden Expo & Tree Giveaway on Saturday, Nov. 4 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Maui Nui Botanical Gardens in Kahului.

This year’s event will feature presentations about firewise landscaping, Lahainaʻs historic trees, and more. Presenters include Hōkūao Pellegrino, Duane Sparkman, Tim Griffiths, Heather McMillan, Miranda Hutten, Jeff Bagshaw, and the Kula Community Watershed Alliance. There will be a performance by TreeCircus, a Hale ʻŌhiʻa booth where residents can earn additional trees, Hawaiian cultural activities, conservation organizations, plants for sale, and a native Hawaiian tree giveaway.

The annual Hawaiian Tree Giveaway, now in its 20th year, features 23 species and over 2,000 trees for residents to choose from. Trees are one per person, with no age limit, and you must be present to receive a tree. Maui Master Gardeners will be available to help you chose a tree that best fits your area.
