Scheduled utility work will impact area traffic along South High Street between Malako and Aupuni streets in Wailuku from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Aug. 2. Hawaiian Electric will work on utility pole replacements and power line upgrades.

No service interruptions are planned.

For the safety of the public and crews, the work requires the closure of the northbound lane on South High Street headed toward Wailuku town between Aupuni and Malako streets. The area normally used for parking on the west side of the street will be open for traffic. The other side of the street will be closed for the utility work, including crews operating bucket trucks.

Safety signs, arrow boards and traffic cones will mark the work area and guide motorists through it. Flagmen will provide onsite traffic control.

Motorists should anticipate traffic delays, drive cautiously and avoid the work area next Friday, if possible.
