The Maui County Council will hold its next meeting, online, beginning at 9 a.m. Aug. 13 while elections officials use the Council Chambers for primary elections work, Chair Alice Lee announced.

In-person testimony will be accepted at the Personnel Services Conference Room on the County Building’s sixth floor.

The primary election is set for Aug. 10. Officials are using the chamber for the election and any post-election work, such as recounts.

This month’s second council meeting is planned for 9 a.m. Aug. 23. It will be online with in-person testimony in the Chamber.

“We appreciate the public’s efforts to remain involved in the county’s legislative process by reading agendas and offering testimony, even as our normal schedule is altered,” said Lee, who holds the seat for the Wailuku-Waiheʻe-Waikapū residency area. “We will continue to provide updates on further changes to the council’s meeting schedule and locations.”

Committee meetings are planned for some days next week, with in-person testimony in the Planning Conference Room on the first floor of the Kalana Pākuʻi Building, next to the County Building. Committees won’t meet Aug. 8 in recognition of the one-year anniversary of the Maui wildfires.
