The Rotary District 5000, consisting of 53 Rotary clubs spread across four islands, hosts a Maui fire disaster recovery update via Zoom at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Aug. 31.

Organizers will share inspiring stories of the three Lahaina Rotary clubs and their journey since the fires last year, including impactful projects that provided disaster relief and aided in the recovery of the community.

“We admire their resilience and dedication to not only survive but also continue serving their community… Witness the true spirit of service above self from the Maui People of Action,” organizers said.

During the event, some members will be honored as “Phoenix Rising” recipients for their outstanding contributions to the fire relief efforts. There will also be an online silent auction to support the 10 Rotary Clubs on Maui that were unable to have their normal fundraisers due to ongoing projects and because the businesses they would normally get donations from are unable to assist this year.
