Alexander Academy opens studio at QKC; Grand re-opening set for Feb. 1

Queen Kaʻahumanu Center is excited to welcome Alexander Academy of Performing Arts, which recently relocated from Hāliʻimaile this past September. To celebrate their new space and offer opportunities for student enrollment, the Maui community is invited to a Grand Re-Opening event on Saturday, Feb. 1, 2025, from 1 to 3 p.m. at Center Court.
Since 1990, Alexander Academy has provided accessible, high-quality dance instruction and performance opportunities.
Their new studio at Queen Kaʻahumanu Center features three spacious, state-of-the-art studio spaces with sprung floors. AAPA offers dance classes for ages 2 to 99, including seasonal camps and intensives.
Each year, AAPA produces two major productions: the Nutcracker Ballet at the Maui Arts & Cultural Center during the holiday season and a spring performance at Seabury Hall.

The Grand Re-Opening will feature performances from AAPA’s current students, showcasing a variety of dance styles and skill levels. Families and keiki can enjoy fun, interactive crafts and games, and learn more about AAPA’s classes and programs. As part of the festivities, attendees can enter a drawing to win one free month of tuition.
“Alexander Academy has been part of Maui’s arts community for over 30 years, and we are thrilled to see them thrive here at Queen Kaʻahumanu Center,” said Kauwela Bisquera, General Manager of Queen Kaʻahumanu Center. “We look forward to supporting their continued growth and are excited to see the impact they will have on our community.”
The new Alexander Academy of Performing Arts location is on the ground floor of Queen Kaʻahumanu Center in the Macy’s Men’s/Children’s Wing.
