Hoʻokipa Maui Marketplace returns, May 29 at Sheraton Maui
Following the success of its 2024 debut, the Hoʻokipa Maui Marketplace returns on May 29, 2025, at the Sheraton Maui Resort & Spa. Designed to foster deeper connections across Maui’s tourism industry, the event is expanding this year to welcome not just guest service professionals, but also visitors and residents seeking to discover Maui’s incredible in destination experiences.
Presented by the Maui Visitors & Convention Bureau (MVCB), the event is supported by Activities & Attractions Association of Hawaiʻi (A3H), Blue Hawaiian Activities, Sheraton Maui Resort & Spa, LahainaTown Action Committee, and the County of Maui Office of Economic Development, with additional support from Southwest Airlines, Polynesian Adventure Tours and FareHarbor.
“Hoʻokipa,” meaning hospitality in Hawaiian, reflects the spirit of warmth, generosity, and care that defines Maui’s approach to welcoming guests. The Marketplace event was created in this spirit — to ensure guest service professionals are equipped with firsthand knowledge of the island’s wide-ranging offerings, and to strengthen relationships with the small businesses that bring those experiences to life.
Last year’s inaugural event welcomed guest service professionals from across the island and showcased more than 80 local businesses. In response to the strong interest and positive feedback, this year’s event will once again feature a tradeshow-style format, offering opportunities for in-person networking and discovery. New for 2025 is the inclusion of visitors and local residents, giving them the opportunity to engage directly with Maui’s experience providers.
“We deeply appreciate the opportunity to be part of this special event,” said Sherry Duong, Executive Director of MVCB. “It’s been inspiring to see our community come together to rebuild and reconnect. The Hoʻokipa Maui Marketplace is one more way we can support Maui’s small businesses and elevate the visitor experience.”
The event supports Maui’s growth by empowering visitor-facing teams with fresh insights and by showcasing the island’s diverse and evolving activities, tours, restaurants, services, and attractions. It’s also a celebration of collaboration and resilience — helping to ensure that every visitor to Maui enjoys a meaningful, memorable stay.
