The Teran James Young Foundation is accepting nominations for the 2025 Maui Peace Awards, which will recognize Maui County residents who promote peace, resolve conflicts, spread compassion and uplift their communities.

The awards are open to nominees of all ages, with nominations accepted through Sept. 10, 2025. Recipients will be honored at the Rally Around Peace Festival on Sept. 27 at the South Maui Gardens in Kīhei.

Nominees must live in Maui County and demonstrate an ongoing commitment to peacebuilding. Nominations should include a brief write-up about the nominee and a photo. Submissions can be made at teranjy.org/maui-peace-award.

The Maui-based nonprofit Teran James Young Foundation works to create peace and sustainability through community-rooted programs, including NVCnextgen, the Hale Pono Youth Shelter, Maluhia Mediation and restorative practices in schools.

Save the Date: Rally Around Peace Festival

The Rally Around Peace Festival is a free, public event celebrating International Peace Day with live music, wellness offerings, keiki activities, food vendors and local speakers. It runs from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 27 at the South Maui Gardens in Kīhei. Optional VIP Access tickets are available at teranjy.org.
