On heels of Lala, new Tropical depression is expected to form today SE of Hawaiʻi

As Hawaiʻi continues to recover from the impacts of Lala, a new potential tropical system is forming southeast of the state (90% chance of formation).
At 5 a.m., potential tropical cyclone (EP90) had showers and thunderstorms that were becoming better organized. The area of low pressure has environmental conditions that appear favorable for further development, according to the National Weather Service.
A tropical depression is expected to form later today or tonight while the system moves W to WNW at 10-15 mph across the Central Pacific.
Interests in the Hawaiian Islands should closely monitor the progress of this system. Forecasts from the National Hurricane Center will likely begin later today.
