Cancellation of Habitat Maui Luau Fundraiser on Sept 26

The Disaster Recovery Fundraiser hosted by the Old Lahaina Lūʻau, originally scheduled for this Saturday, Sept. 26, 2026, has been cancelled due to inclement weather and the current brushfire in Olowalu.

“The safety and well-being of our guests, volunteers, staff, and entertainers are our highest priority. Given the severe wind conditions across Maui, we cannot safely proceed with our outdoor evening event. Please do not travel to Lahaina at this time while they are working to get the fire under control,” organizers said. “We are incredibly grateful for your support and commitment to helping us rebuild homes and hope in Lahaina.”:

For those who purchased tickets for the special event, organizers will be reaching directly early next week with detailed options regarding tickets purchased, converting tickets into a 100% tax-deductible donation, or processing a full refund.

“We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience and disappointment this cancellation causes. Thank you for your patience, understanding, and steadfast support of Habitat for Humanity Maui as we navigate these storm impacts together,” organizers said in an email message to supporters.

Habitat for Humanity Maui will host its 2026 Disaster Recovery Fundraiser on Saturday, Sept. 26, 2026, from 5:30 to 9 p.m. at the historic Old Lāhainā Lūʻau. Marking three years since the devastating August 2023 wildfires, the special evening aims to raise critical funds to support ongoing home repairs, gap funding, and full housing reconstruction for displaced Maui families.
