Sharon Har joins Catholic Charities Housing Development Corporation as Housing Development Director

Catholic Charities Housing Development Corporation announced today that Sharon Har has joined the organization as its Housing Development Director. In this role, Har will focus on the day-to-day development of Hale Pilina, CCHDC’s newest affordable housing project, and serve as the primary point of contact for financing, construction and consulting partners.

“Bringing Sharon onto our team strengthens everything we’re building at CCHDC,” said Denise Iseri-Matsubara, Executive Director of CCHDC. “Her experience and deep commitment to Hawaiʻi’s future will help us expand what’s possible, not just at Hale Pilina, but throughout the islands.”

Located in Kahului, Hale Pilina is CCHDC’s first development designed specifically for families. This 178-unit community, split between one- and two-bedroom apartments across four buildings, will serve families earning up to 60% of the area median income. For the first two years, priority will be given to those affected by the 2023 Maui wildfires. Thoughtfully designed with a community focus, the project will feature shared spaces and amenities that foster connection and support among residents, with completion anticipated to be the end of summer 2027. In addition to Hale Pilina, CCHDC manages six other affordable housing developments on Oʻahu and Maui.

With a career spanning more than two decades, Har has worked across affordable housing, real estate development, law and public service. Most recently, she served as Vice President of Development and Operations for The Michaels Organization in Hawaiʻi, where she led the execution of affordable housing developments from concept through completion and oversaw statewide development activities. Earlier in her career, Har practiced real estate and land use law and served in the Hawaiʻi House of Representatives, where she was a leading voice on affordable housing.
