Registration now open for 16th annual Maui 5K presented by Maui Ocean Center
Maui Ocean Center will present the 16th annual Maui 5K from 6 to 9 a.m. Sunday, March 7, 2027. Registration is now open, with special advanced pricing until Oct. 1.
Participants have the option to take part in a 5K run through Mā’alaea or walk an alternate mile-long loop. For those who can’t attend, a virtual run or walk is also offered. Proceeds from the event go directly to the community, providing funding for local schools.
“We couldn’t be more grateful for the amazing support we received at this year’s event,” said Maui 5K co-founder Arlene Emerson. “We’d love to make this next race even bigger so we can raise more funds to support Maui County schools. Reserve your spot, invite your friends and family, and let’s make 2027 our best year yet.”
Registration for the Maui 5K is currently $30 for youth ages 5 to 17, $35 for adults (or $30 untimed) and $25 for the 1-mile run/walk. Runners and walkers can indicate which school they’d like to support on their registration form.
Earlier this year, more than 1,500 Maui residents and visitors — some from as far away as Canada and Italy — participated in the 15th annual Maui 5K, raising a record $83,000 for Maui County schools. The top 5 schools with the most participants were: Kula Elementary School, Pōmaikaʻi Elementary School, Kamehameha Schools Maui, Makawao Elementary School and Carden Academy of Maui.
On race morning, a group warm-up and safety briefing begins at 6:30 a.m. followed by the 7 a.m. start and 8 a.m. awards ceremony. For more information or to register, visit maui5k.org.
