Hawaiʻi Community Foundation names Reid Gushiken Senior VP and Chief Financial Officer

The Hawaiʻi Community Foundation today announced the appointment of Reid Gushiken as Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer, effective Sept. 14, 2026. In this role, Gushiken will oversee HCF’s financial and administrative operations and help guide the foundation’s long-term stewardship of resources in service to Hawai‘i’s communities.
Gushiken brings more than two decades of financial leadership experience across the education, banking, and accounting sectors. For more than a decade, he has served as Chief Financial Officer at ‘Iolani School, where he leads the institution’s finance and business office functions and has overseen major campus planning and operational initiatives. Prior to that, he spent nearly 10 years at Central Pacific Bank, culminating in in his role as Senior Vice President and Controller, where he helped guide the organization through a period of significant economic challenge. He began his career as a Certified Public Accountant with KPMG.

In addition to his professional accomplishments, Gushiken has dedicated significant time to community service through board and treasurer leadership roles with organizations including Helping Hands Hawai‘i and Catholic Charities Hawai‘i. His longstanding commitment to community impact aligns closely with HCF’s mission of inspiring the spirit of giving and investing in solutions that help Hawai‘i thrive.

Gushiken succeeds Wally Chin, whose nearly two decades of leadership have helped build HCF’s strong financial foundation. Chin will continue supporting the organization as Senior Leadership Advisor, helping ensure continuity and a seamless leadership handoff.
