Visitor injured in fall, airlifted from ‘Olivine Pools’ in West Maui

A visitor was airlifted to safety after suffering an ankle injury during a fall on a hike at the area known as “Olivine Pools” in West Maui, Sunday. The 43-year-old woman was unable to walk out on her own.

Crews from the Maui Fire Department responded to the call at 4:54 p.m. on Sept. 13, 2026.

Rescue 10 personnel aboard the department’s Air 1 helicopter lifted the patient aboard Air 1. The helicopter landed on the roadway to transfer the patient Emergency Medical Services personnel for transport.

Crews concluded their response at 6:19 p.m.
