Maui Humane Society gets a boost from Avis team at Kahului Airport

Shelter animals at Maui Humane Society received support this month in a community donation drive organized by the Avis team at Kahului Airport, according to an announcement. Over a two-week period, local Avis employees collected 148 essential items—nearly doubling their initial goal—to directly benefit rescue animals in need across the island.
The drive was launched in celebration of Avis’s 80th anniversary, with the local team channeling its company milestone into meaningful community support. Aiming to collect 80 items in honor of Avis’s history tracing back to 1946, employees across various airport departments rallied together, exceeding expectations to provide vital toys, care items, and everyday essentials for MHS shelter residents.
“With us doing our big event coming up for October 20th, 2026, we all decided to steer it towards taking care of the animals and giving back,” said Antoinette Campbell, a 10-year Avis employee who helped organize the effort. “We have a lot of pet lovers, so it was a big, huge thing for us to support the shelter.”
The delivered supplies will immediately go toward enriching the daily lives and supporting the ongoing medical and physical care of animals awaiting adoption at Maui Humane Society.
