America tuned up to perform at MACC’s Castle Theater on Nov. 7; general public tickets go on sale Sept. 18

Classic rock band America will perform at the Maui Arts & Cultural Center’s Castle Theater at 7:30 p.m. Nov. 7, as part of a two-night Hawai’i stop that also includes a Nov. 6 show at Honolulu’s Blaisdell Concert Hall.

Maui show tickets go on sale to MACC members at 10 a.m. Wednesday, with a 10% member discount. General public tickets for both the Maui and Honolulu concerts go on sale Friday. Maui tickets can be purchased at MauiArts.org; membership information is available at MauiArts.org/membership. Honolulu tickets go on sale to the public at 10 a.m. Friday through the Blaisdell Box Office or Ticketmaster.com.

America formed in 1970 and is known for hits including “A Horse With No Name,” “Ventura Highway,” “Sister Golden Hair,” “Tin Man” and “Lonely People.” The band won the Grammy for Best New Artist in 1972 and later worked with producer George Martin on a series of albums through the 1970s. Six of the band’s albums have been certified gold or platinum.

Founding member Gerry Beckley retired from touring in 2024 but remains an active member of the group; Dewey Bunnell continues to tour with the band, currently on “The Happy Trails Tour 2026.”

The band is also the subject of a documentary, “I Need You: 53 Years of the Band America,” which follows Beckley and Bunnell during Beckley’s transition away from touring. The film won the Audience Award for Best Music Film at the Newport Beach Film Festival and is currently screening at other festivals.
