12 p.m. update: HECO reports no major power outages as Hurricane Nolo slowly tracks south of the state

As Hurricane Nolo tracks slowly westward, Hawaiian Electric crews, contractors and support staff remain ready to respond as conditions allow. With rainfall, flash flooding, thunderstorms and damaging winds forecasted for today, especially for Hawai‘i Island and Maui, the company continues to encourage customers to prepare through the weekend for possible power outages.

As of 11:30 a.m. today, crews are working to restore power to about 30 Hawai‘i Island customers in the Lower Puna area. There are currently no major outages in Maui County or on Oʻahu.

Customers should keep emergency supplies stocked, phones and other essential devices charged, and remain prepared for the possibility of extended outages.
