Maui County Fair announces admission and ticket presales, details on E.K. Fernandez rides, safety reminders

The 99^th Maui County Fair is just a few days away, and fairgoers can get ready for four days of food, entertainment, exhibits, community activities and carnival rides at the War Memorial Special Events Complex in Wailuku from Thursday, Oct. 1, through Sunday, Oct. 4.

General admission is $10 for adults ages 12 and older, $5 for children ages 5 to 11, and free for keiki ages 4 and younger. Fair admission gates accept cash only. Admission tickets may be purchased in advance at designated presale locations or at the fairgrounds.

Presale tickets

Presale admission tickets are available at the same general admission prices: $10 for adults, $5 for children ages 5 to 11, and free for children ages 4 and younger. Fair organizers caution the public to purchase tickets only from authorized sellers. The Maui County Fair will not issue refunds for tickets purchased from unauthorized groups or individuals. Presale admission tickets are available at the following locations:

Fun Factory Day on Sunday

Sunday, Oct. 4, will feature Fun Factory Day, with free admission to the Maui County Fair for the first 2,000 attendees split between the three entry gates, courtesy of Fun Factory at Queen Kaʻahumanu Center and Maui Mall.

Get ready for rides with the E.K. Fernandez Fun Pass app

For fairgoers planning to enjoy the carnival rides, E.K. Fernandez is introducing its Fun Pass app, which allows users to purchase and manage ride credits from their mobile devices. The app allows users to:

• Purchase ride credits from their phones and spend less time waiting in line;
• Use a digital Fun Pass instead of carrying a physical card;
• Share the app with children and reload credits as needed.

The Fun Pass is separate from fair admission and cannot be used to enter the fair. It also is not valid for food booths or other activities operated by the Maui County Fair and its nonprofit organizations.

The app carries a $1 annual wallet fee, while in-app purchases are subject to a 40-cent fee plus a 3.2% convenience fee. Unused credits are nonrefundable. A presale period for Fun Pass purchases will be held Monday, Sept. 28, through Wednesday, Sept. 30, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Cash will not be accepted during the presale period; credit and debit cards will be accepted. The 2026 Maui County Fair will feature the following rides; credit requirements and height restrictions vary by ride. Discount ride hours will be offered Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Sunday from 10 a.m. until closing.

• Balloon Race — 60 credits; 36 inches unless accompanied; 54-inch maximum
• Carousel — 60 credits; 24 inches with an adult, 42 inches alone
• Dizzy Dragons — 60 credits; 42 inches unless accompanied
• Helicopters — 60 credits; 36 inches unless accompanied; 54-inch maximum
• *Speedway — 60 credits; 42-inch minimum (*New for 2026)
• Magic Maze — 60 credits; 36 inches with an adult, 42 inches alone
• Pharaoh’s Fury — 70 credits; 48-inch minimum
• Scooter — 60 credits; 42 inches with an adult, 48 inches alone; 48 inches to drive
• Seven Seas — 70 credits; 42 inches with an adult, 48 inches alone
• Super Sizzler — 70 credits; 42 inches with an adult, 48 inches alone
• Super Slide — 60 credits; 42 inches unless accompanied
• Wacky Worm — 65 credits; 36 inches with an adult, 42 inches alone
• Wave Swinger — 85 credits; 45-inch minimum
• Zero Gravity — 70 credits; 42-inch minimum and 76-inch maximum

• Thursday, Oct. 1-  5 to 11 p.m. – Maui County Fair Parade: 4:30 to 6:30 p.m.
• Friday, Oct. 2-  5 p.m. to midnight
• Saturday, Oct. 3-  10 a.m. to midnight
• Sunday, Oct. 4- 10 a.m. to 11 p.m.

Safety Reminders:

Organizers also offered safety and other reminders for fairgoers, to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for everyone:

• To keep entry lines moving, fairgoers are highly encourage to bring clear bags; signage will direct attendees to the appropriate entry lines.
• Empty reusable water bottles are welcome, with refill stations available inside the fairgrounds.
• All person, bags and strollers are subject to search at the admission gates, including those entering with presale tickets. Please allow time for screening when arriving at the fairgrounds.
• Smoking or vaping is only allowed in designated areas.
• Prohibited items include but are not limited to: weapons of any kind – absolutely no guns of any kind are allowed in the fairgrounds; illegal drugs or controlled substances; alcoholic beverages (unless purchased in designated areas); outside food, drinks, coolers or glass containers; pets or animals (service animals with proper ID are welcome); bicycles, skateboards, hoverboards, scooters or rollerblades; drones or remote-controlled devices; and large umbrellas or tents.
