Tipu Tipu Foundation director of operations to address Rotary Club of Lahaina Sunset

Andrea Scholz, operations director of the Tips Tips Foundation, will be the guest speaker during the Rotary Club of Lahaina Sunset’s Oct. 6 meeting. She will discuss “Tipu Tipu–Native Ecosystem, Wetlands & Watershed Restoration.”

Tipu Tipu, is a Maui-based nonprofit organization dedicated to the restoration of Maui’s native land and marine ecosystems. It focuses on the importance of community development, proactive climate action and sustainable land stewardship initiatives.  

Scholz will share how Tipu Tipu is working to increase Maui Countyʻs natural disaster resiliency through the establishment of seed farm and seed banking infrastructure to support the next generation of restoration projects and sustainabilty professionals as they navigate the critical and emerging environmental challenges of global warming.

The meeting will be held at the YMCA West Side Resource Center, located in the old Tamura’s building in Emerald Plaza. The address is 226 Kupuohi Street, Lahaina, 96761. The social period will begin at 5 p.m. Light snacks are available for purchase.
