Catherine “Cathy” Camp and Diane Peters-Nguyen

Women’s Fund of Hawai‘i welcomes Catherine “Cathy” Camp and Diane Peters-Nguyen to its Board of Directors.

Camp and Peters-Nguyen bring decades of leadership experience in business, philanthropy, nonprofit management, community engagement, fundraising and strategic development. Their expertise will strengthen WFH’s work to support innovative, grassroots programs that empower women and girls across Hawai‘i.

Catherine Camp is Executive Vice President of Customer & Community Impact at Central Pacific Bank, where she helps shape the Bank’s external brand, customer strategy, physical presence, and initiatives supporting housing, small business growth and stronger communities across Hawai‘i.

Camp brings more than 35 years of leadership experience spanning banking, commercial real estate, development, asset management, facilities, customer experience, marketing and community engagement. Prior to joining Central Pacific Bank, she spent more than a decade at Kamehameha Schools as Director of Planning & Development, leading real estate planning, development and asset management initiatives across strategic markets totaling more than one million square feet and approximately $469 million in value.

She has also held leadership positions at Alexander & Baldwin, Hawai‘i Pacific Health and Kaiser Permanente. Camp earned an Executive Master’s Degree in Business Administration from Stanford University, a Master’s degree in Business and Health Services Administration from Central Michigan University, and undergraduate degrees in Economics and Mathematics from the University of Pittsburgh.

“Cathy brings an impressive combination of leadership, business expertise and deep commitment to community,” said WFH Board Chair Stephanie Shipton. “She has served on numerous nonprofit and industry boards supporting housing, education, health and community advancement across Hawai‘i. We are delighted to welcome her to the Women’s Fund of Hawai‘i board and look forward to the perspective she will bring to our work supporting women and girls statewide.”

Diane Peters-Nguyen is the retired CEO of the American Red Cross Pacific Islands Region, which includes Hawai‘i, Guam, the Northern Mariana Islands and American Samoa. During her tenure, she led the organization to record levels of fundraising, doubled its volunteer base and increased integration across the geographically largest and most dispersed Red Cross region in the nation.

Her leadership included responding to historic disasters, including Super Typhoon Mawar in Guam and the August 2023 Maui wildfires. Peters-Nguyen brings three decades of experience leading diverse teams, developing revenue and philanthropic partnerships, marketing and communications, and managing volunteers.

An alumna of Kamehameha Schools and George Washington University, Peters-Nguyen served as Chaminade University’s Vice President for Advancement for more than 12 years. She played a lead role in initiating, developing and completing the university’s $118 million “Bridges to the Future” campaign, the most successful campaign in the organization’s history, which doubled its endowment and significantly expanded scholarships for Native Hawaiian and first-generation students.

Peters-Nguyen also serves on community boards and commissions, including the Hawai‘i State Commission for National and Community Service (AmeriCorps), and is president of the Hui Hanai Advisory Board, which perpetuates the legacy of Queen Lili‘uokalani.

“Diane is a dynamic and proven leader with tremendous experience in nonprofit leadership, fundraising, philanthropy and community partnerships,” said WFH Executive Director Elisabeth Case. “Her understanding of how strong organizations can create lasting community impact will be an incredible asset to Women’s Fund of Hawai‘i. We are thrilled to welcome her to our board.”

“Cathy and Diane bring complementary experiences and perspectives at an important time for Women’s Fund of Hawai‘i,” said Case. “Our work is about investing in the people and organizations creating meaningful change for women and girls throughout our islands. We are fortunate to have leaders of their caliber joining us in that work.”

Camp and Peters-Nguyen join current WFH Board members Stephanie Shipton, Chair; Sharon Lovejoy, Vice Chair; Gwen Pacarro, Treasurer; Judy Bishop, Secretary; Meredith Artley; Karen Mukai; Elaine Rossi DeLeon; and Julie Yunker.
