Hyatt Regency Maui Wins Silver Medal for Best Golf Resort in Far West at Stella Awards

Hyatt Regency Maui Resort and Spa in Kāʻanapali received a Silver Medal for Best Golf Resort – Far West in Northstar Meetings Group’s 10th annual Stella Awards, the resort announced.
The Hyatt Regency Maui Resort and Spa sits on Kāʻanapali Beach in West Maui. Northstar Meetings Group, a publication serving the meetings and events industry, presents the awards.
According to the resort, Kāʻanapali Golf Courses, less than a mile away, has two 18-hole courses with views of the Pacific Ocean and Mauna Kahalawai, also known as the West Maui Mountains. The resort also operates the YO! Maui Golf Studio, where PGA professional Sutee Nitakorn gives lessons to players of all skill levels.
Fred Findlen, the resort’s general manager, said golf plays a fundamental role in the Kāʻanapali visitor experience and that the recognition reflects the range of options available to guests.

“We’re proud to be part of this special recognition and to share a longstanding relationship with Hyatt Regency Maui Resort and Spa,” said Kā‘anapali Golf Courses General Manager Karl Reul. “Over the years, our partnership has extended beyond golf to support corporate events, concerts, receptions and outdoor dinners overlooking the West Maui Mountains. The courses provide a distinctive setting for groups, helping planners create experiences that showcase the beauty and spirit of Maui in a unique way. We’re honored to play a role in what makes this destination so special for meeting attendees, while also offering leisure and (business-leisure) travelers another way to experience Kā‘anapali.”
Northstar Meetings Group said the Stella Awards recognize hotels and resorts, convention centers, airlines, cruise lines, destination organizations and other industry partners. The 2026 winners were chosen from nearly 8,000 votes and a record 1,167 nominations, the company said. Meeting planners nominate and vote on candidates, and a panel of industry judges then reviews the results.
The resort covers 40 oceanfront acres on Kāʻanapali Beach, according to its announcement. Amenities include a beachfront pool with a 150-foot waterslide, a spa and salon, the OHANA Pickleball Club, the Drums of the Pacific Lūʻau and 10 food and beverage outlets, including Japengo. The resort said it offers 100,000 square feet of event space for groups and meetings.
