Mayor Richard Bissen’s annual Holomua Kākou scheduled for Lānaʻi on Oct. 27-28, 2026, is being postponed due to severe weather forecasts canceling the Lānaʻi ferry. The Holomua Kākou visit included the Talk Story Community Meeting, Community Drop-In Center, Grant Writing Workshop and Community Budget Meeting.

Lānai ferry service for Wednesday, Oct. 28, was halted after National Weather Service posted a Flood Watch for the state, preventing travel by county personnel. The Flood Watch predicts potentially heavy rain, flooding and isolated thunderstorms Tuesday through Thursday, Oct. 27-29, 2026.

The Grant Writing Workshop and Community Budget Meeting will be rescheduled soon. Holomua Kākou details will be announced at a later date.

For more information, Lānaʻi residents may contact Public Affairs within the County Office of the Mayor at (808) 270-7855 orpublic.affairs@mauicounty.gov.
