Nearly 20 years after community restoration efforts began at the Pāʻia Youth and Cultural Center, partners and volunteers will gather Nov. 13 to celebrate their work caring for Kapukaulua, also known as Baldwin Beach.

The free, all-ages Kapukaulua Dune Restoration Celebration will include native dune planting, community activities and live music. The event is hosted by the University of Hawaiʻi Sea Grant College Program, the Maui County Department of Parks and Recreation and partners. Attendees can learn how native vegetation helps restore coastal ecosystems and strengthen shoreline resilience.
