The Leleiwi Overlook parking lot, located in the Summit District of Haleakalā National Park, will be completely closed for repaving and accessibility improvements for one week beginning today.

Park officials say the week-long parking lot closure at Leleiwi will conclude on Wednesday, June 12.

On another note, a parking lot rehabilitation project continues through tomorrow, June 6, at the visitor center near the summit.

According to an earlier announcement, parking spaces at the visitor center lot near the 9,000-foot elevation may be reduced by up to 50% during sunrise, and up to 70% during daylight hours for the duration of the project.
